Apple iCloud Class Action Settlement
There were several Apple customers that sued Apple in 2019 claiming a contract breach. They claimed that Apple outsourced their cloud storage to a 3rd party service. This was against their terms of service.
Apple did not admit to any wrongdoing, but it agreed to pay a $14.8 million settlement. If you paid for an iCloud Plus subscription from Sept. 16 through Jan. 31st, you qualify for the Apple settlement. If you had a subscription for the entire year, you could get up to $50.
The opting-out period for the settlement ended on May 23, 2022.
However, if you qualified for this settlement, you did not have to do anything. You’ll get a payment if you get an email from Apple saying you were a class member. So be sure to check your email!
